   @coolboymew I know why LCD TVs aren’t as good as monitors (mainly latency, colour and overscan issues not to mention stupid bloat) but does that apply to old CRTs? Is there really a difference aside from size?

     @che5hire Retro gaming fans likes CRT for more than that. Proper black colors (that only OLED has), no light bleeding and more importantly, the pixel blurring. Loads of retro games drew their stuff with this in mind. Some other consoles with no transparency layer used this to emulate it

     @coolboymew I think you misunderstood. I know why people like CRTs. I meant is there a difference between a CRT monitor or a TV? Aside from the obvious size and inputs?

     @coolboymew I looked it up because I was curious and apparently the monitors were usually progressive and not interlaced so scanlines are not a thing on those. And the scanrate was usually higher so things like the NES lightgun just flat out wouldn’t work.

     @che5hire @coolboymew You can use interlaced on some crt monitor (like mine) with the right hardware and drivers.
