@Moon Ah, you're just always nice, that's great, just there are people that are overtly hostile and not worth dealing with, and you seem to have way more patience for them than I would. (I don't know if anyone specific prompted this lately.)
Reciprocity calculations make things untenable. Someone that kind of encourages that is worth avoiding; like, someone that keeps score in personal relationships ends up either exploiting you or causing you to keep score, neither of which is desirable. Passive-aggressive behavior is a form of hostility.

@p @Moon if someone is not dealing with you in good faith, there is no point in continuing to associate with them. There are TONS of people like that on the internet, and a few irl.
There are a lot of people who assume that if they get the last word, that means they've "won". But all it really means is that their opponents have deserted the argument in disgust.
There are also a lot of people who can't admit they're wrong under any circumstances. Usually they try to turn the narrative around so the blame falls on you for their error. Extremely frustrating if this person is your employer or your spouse. You'll notice a lot of turnover in these people's lives in spite of any charms or redeeming qualities they might have.
Both types are to be avoided; disengage asap
