   Having children is a financial death sentence for most millennials and gen z'ers right now. We can barely afford to stay afloat ourselves. Look at the amount of people who had to move back in with parents. It's fucking ridiculous. Everything has been done to discourage people from having kids. And now it's a crisis.

     @charlie_root Housing costs though. That's where it starts. That's the biggest problem. Then there's the question who stays with the kids, because you need a minimum of a double income to afford the house. Etc etc etc.

     I supported my kids and my ex 100% by being a hard working man and not a *total dumbass (I have my moments). She didn't have to work. It's doable, but a man has to get his hustle on and toughen up. It's sucks, but it's the way of the world.

     Hi, dad here, yes having kids has a cost, when it comes to clothing and food and other esstentials. But it's not nearly as expensive as you think it is. A lot of people make it *seem* that way because they needlessly spend money on shit that's not really important for their kids. Or eschew traditional ways of living that civillized people have practiced for millenia.
