Lack of technical focus wasn't really their weak point.
@arstechnica There is no saving Unity. It will continue layoffs & bleeding until it dies.
@arstechnica The decisions that Unity takes to expand on new fields is at best imperialistic. The cost of these decisions, though, burdens the employees.
It's a sad fact that Unity is more or less an industry standard by now- and users cannot replace it (with FOSS preferably). It certainly resembles the Adobe situation of the market.
Still, I hope they learn something. Last year they shrunk their work-base significantly while their profits were practically thrown away in investments.
