PCSX2 tried to jump to wayland and dropped their spaghetti all over the fucking place before reverting back in embarrassment.
Why can't these developers just be patient and wait until it fucking works before using it? :hyperconfused:

@EdBoatConnoisseur Troons breaking everything, why am I not surprised. Thank god for old version archives.

@Kyonko802 arch linux syndrome, gnome retardation and the push of the bullshit lie that "despite working x11 is a horrible mess, so to have a good working linux desktop we have to drop the system that works good enough in favour of this 'new' system that will be perfect soon™"
the promise that wayland will eventually be perfect is placebo enough to sell everyone on it... one would think that developers would be the wiser and not let the endless chase for perfect get in the way of good but here we are...
tho fun enough i you take a look the same crowd shilling wayland is the one that shills rust, you know the mozilla trannies...

@Kyonko802 the one good thing about flatpak, is that not only it is easy to install the old versions of software, but just like apt it is easy to "pin" the old version so that it doesn't get updated untill you unpin it.
-
@EdBoatConnoisseur Yeah you dont have to dig through the git to find an older version.
For fucks sake though there's a reason all the mainline distros and big programs still have wayland as an OPTION and not the fucking default. Shit isn't just gonna magically replace what's working overnight, if it ever does.

@EdBoatConnoisseur 15 fucking years? Christ I didn't know it was that bad. I'm new to all this drama since I only started using linux when I got my steam deck.
-
@Kyonko802 it will never tho, wayland is a fever dream that has been already 15 years in the making and it is still optional... imagine that, one decade and a half and it still has to be an OPTION because it cannot be the default in spite of all the money that red hat has dumped into it in 15 years... wanna know the un thing? people have been pretending that wayland is magically going to be the default and bring the year of the linux desktop the next year every year since 2016... these niggers are fucking delusional
-
@Kyonko802 dude, i still remember ubuntu 10.04 and i'm 26... i've sadly been into this shit for too fucking long...
-
@EdBoatConnoisseur You know what wayland reminds me of?
Star Citizen.

@Kyonko802 you know, legitimately people would be talking of wayland like they do of gnu hurd if it wasn't because red had dumped money on selling hot air about wayland.
if you don't happen to know what gnu hurd is, it is the kernel of the gnu operative system, that has been in development since 1990 and it is barely usable today... the gnu + linux copy pasta meme is because back in 1994 the gnu project had all the necessary open source components to assemble a fully functioning OS except for a working kernel, meanwhile linux was already fully functional for a professional production environment and so everyone decided to combine the linux kernel with the gnu components and other open source projects like xorg to create operating systems...
fun enough the reason why hurd has gone nowhere in 33 years is they have been chasing perfection meanwhile for linux being just good was good enough...

@EdBoatConnoisseur If I click on program and program work, OS is good
