     @leespringfield1903 The Great Ukraine Counteroffensive (straight into a shower of Russian artillery) is a great example of this.
     
     Basically the plan was to take about 50K Ukies (maybe more, can't recall exactly) with no prior military experience, and train them in NATO combined arms warfare tactics. And they tried to do this in just five weeks with a hodgepodge of mismatched equipment from numerous countries. And they tried doing with the Russians having air superiority and multiple lines of defense. And everyone knew where they were going to attack for months.

     They may have seen it on a PowerPoint but never internalized and built it into their worldviews. I remember not so long ago Sec of Army Christine Wormuth was asked how the population would react to a long war with China and the sacrifices it'd require. Her response was that the population would just behave the same as during ww2. These people are so detached from reality, they truly have no idea how different this country is compared to 80 years ago.
