I don't want to and you can't make me.¹
> Compare this to the fediverse, where all they can do is make some centralized blocklist
Yeah, that was the point I was making, right, there's no rudder: you can't steer fedi. So they make these private Discord servers (and if I'm lucky, what I have done will get FSE's domain blacklisted) and some opaque moderation council and declare servers good or evil or, like Are0h, they have a guy that makes up the declarations himself and is so effective at bait production and shouting down opposition that he can get a lot of people to fall in line with his personal declarations.
> FediSeer.com
Apparently FSE has been "censured". I don't remember receiving any communication of a reprimand or anything like that.
> that's when the fun really begins.
Indeed. People that wanna build walls around themselves tend to get punchy when they've finished the wall and then run out of people to wall off except others inside the wall.
¹ I agree with the point you are making but I cannot avoid expressing disdain for BlueSky as soon as I heard that you needed an invite to join their "decentralized" network.

Yeah, it's not decentralized if you can be banned, and banning someone they don't want to be associated with reeks of BigCorp Branding horseshit.
> That's only because the admin didn't think they could convince you into bending over to whatever they want.
We have gotten, in all of these years, very few complaints. I have had people accuse me of threatening to murder them. I don't think they want to convince me of anything, I think they want a bogeyman.
> you will get messages ordering you to run something else
You can get instance-blocked for a *user* on your site running the "wrong" client or even suggesting that you like that client.

@p @anonymous @ins0mniak As someone who has gotten into it; you are missing nothing. It is literally just mastodon.social mixed with furry twitter. The only people on this side of the internet who have accounts are doing it to laugh at the retards there, especially given they do ban you merely if you're someone infamous enough.
>Apparently FSE has been "censured". I don't remember receiving any communication of a reprimand or anything like that.
That's only because the admin didn't think they could convince you into bending over to whatever they want. If you're in the mastodong circle and run Soapbox for example, you will get messages ordering you to run something else now because Alex Gleason hates trannies (that is literally the sole reason, it's nothing to do with the code or his motives, it's solely "he hates trannies"). This happened to a guy I know and it happens to others.
And yep, they will wall each off over stupid bullshit online. It's funny to see.

@p @ins0mniak @anonymous @PurpCat That are some amazing fediblocks

Soooo...they do not actually care that Alex refuses to patch very obvious bugs just to have time to add more bloated "features" to Soapbox ?
-
@TheMadPirate @PurpCat @anonymous @ins0mniak No, Mastodon people do not care if there are bugs in Soapbox. You gotta keep up with the conversation.
-
@TheMadPirate @anonymous @ins0mniak @p no they literally do not care about that (look at ackoma) just that the glussy said mean things online.
if you run a fork that is probably even buggier it's okay

@TheMadPirate @anonymous @ins0mniak @p also I showed a friend whose computer knowledge comes from "CSI hacking scenes" the soapbox GB emulator and he had a really fucking good point
"couldn't this be exploited"
ZSNES had a very similar exploit ages ago patched in 1.52 that would let you do anything with a deliberately corrupt ROM and the writers of the exploit said "literally use any other emulator".
