     @Zerglingman @Sabex My question is with the tech we have now why not send a fucking smartphone or something to the moon and back again. No additional weight; all automated.

     Would solve some many questions.

     Though I'm not sure I'd want to send 1080p photos over it anyway, letalone anything else that can do that distance.
     But like... 480p photos are very much possible.
     Anyway let's just get some sealed chambers, piece-by-piece, send them to the moon, ship air, soil and plants up there, and water ofc, and get on with making a colony.

     Anyway it could all be done local and high quality. Turn it on near the moon (or simply give it more space and battery) and theoretically at least you could get many hours of footage. Not to mention simply ditching using a smartphone and use a camera on a buggy. You know, like Mars(?).

     I’m overthinking it.

     >get on with making a colony. A colony on the moon would be cool and all but frankly we got too many probs down here.
