   Okay here's my heckin' big brain thoughtfluencer late-take.
   
   This is heckin' scary if true. I say this as someone who reads a lot of science fiction books which makes me a heckin' expert. Big if true, as the soyteens say.
   
   That said, this seems like a psyop. The regulatory capture conspiracy. The globohomo (proxied via DEI) conspiracy. All plausible.
   
   This also isn't the first time some "AI Researcher" cried about their Chinese Room gaining sentience.

     @dedmos the whole Project Tundra really sent me through a loop. It's a reference to a single Spiegel article. Very little other information. It reads turboencabulator shit but when you double check it, it plausibly checks out. Some, or several PhDs wrote this, even if it's totally fake.

     @crunklord420 If this is fake and gay, at least they put more effort into it this time, compared to that IIIRC Google worker who thought some chatbot was alive cuz it responded with "i don't want to die" boilerplate garbage during test talks.

     @crunklord420 @dedmos Spiegel is some extreme fake news. They had one story where some guy went to a small town and just made up everything about the people there to paint them as the dumbest rednecks ever to pander to urbanite euros
