     @weaf Most anime fans have seen it, most like it, it’s got a big presence in online communities, it’s got mostly positive reviews, and high ratings on aggregate review sites. All pretty much what you’d expect from a pretty good show. Kind of straightforward.

     @mkultra @weaf I’ve never seen it (except the first rebuild movie which did suck ass) and I have no desire to. I’m not making a personal judgement call just when I see talk about whether something is “overrated“ or “underrated” when there’s long standing broad spectrum consensus over it it makes me roll my eyes. Same feeling i get when I see “unpopular opinions” threads where people jerk themselves off over their popular opinions that they pretend are niche.

     @jimmybuffettfanaccount @mkultra @weaf it's fine. the level of exposure it gets has taken a life of its own on and has no relation to the actual show. much better shows do not get the exposure it gets but w/e, nothing ever gains from a large influx of normalfag fans.
     
     there are many people who have seen only NGE who are convinced it is a masterwork who refuse to watch anything else which is annoying tbh
