Here’s why this weekend’s Starship launch was actually a huge success
On just its second flight, Starship now is arguably as successful as NASA's SLS rocket.

@arstechnica That is demonstrably stupid. SLS launched successfully, and did not explode. Both Starships exploded.
@arstechnica I keep wondering how much CO2 is released in the atmosphere by such a project. We're in a situation where we need to reduce the CO2 emissions drastically to be able to survive on this planet. Last thing we need is a private space company launching rockets at high frequency, just 'to learn from it'. We need more checkers at SpaceX: Do we need this? Do we need this now, or can we work on it a bit longer? What do we gain from it? Is it worth the extra CO2-emissions?
@arstechnica successful evidently has a different meaning here. But the real question is why. We have global warming, wars, hate viloence and we are killing the planet. How will this help? Spewing more crap into the warming atmosphere? Can't we use this money, time, knowledge for helping us?
