   We’ll never find out what is truly molested by censors in video games anymore before release (been like that for many years), because we have an entire industry and race of spiteful mutants who have made it their ideological goal to subvert games and flaunt their vandalism of them as the status quo.

     @Neigh-Sayer @shedinja @RehnSturm256 There was another Trump joke too, which didn't even work (it involved letting a hyper-competent person run Japan behind the scenes to "Make Japan Great Again", which objectively wouldn't even be a bad thing), but overall 2 tame jokes like that in a long-ass visual novel is nothing, we'd be lucky to see a Western story-driven game be that apolitical.

     @RehnSturm256 A curious case of "localization" I found out about recently involved an rpg released about 20 years ago called Skies of Arcadia, first released on the Dreamcast and later on the Gamecube. Taken from Wikipedia:
     >It was localized by Chris Lucich and Klayton Vorlick. The two were given the freedom to change the game content for Western audiences, though Sega of Japan held the right to veto their changes. While the game still follows the same general plotline from the Japanese game, much of the dialogue was entirely rewritten. The two did a rough translation of the entire game from Japanese to English, and then completely deleted the Japanese from their records, choosing to write the subsequent and final drafts without referencing the original text. Vorlick completely rewrote the dialogue for Enrique, Vigoro and Fina, while Lucich rewrote Gilder and Aika, and the two co-wrote for Vyse.

     @shedinja @Neigh-Sayer @RehnSturm256 She did? I don't remember that, though in 2019 I myself might still have been somewhat soft on niggers and coalburners (compared to now that is), so it wouldn't have resonated with me that strongly.
     
     What I do remember is an openly tranny character, two pretty major characters being faggots (all these faggots are supposedly good guys btw, and one of them is described as openly hating "conservatives") and who could forget, Little Mary Sue's pro-LGBTP propaganda speech.
     
     And worst of all, the main character being a footfag 🤮
