   Washing out Wagamama takeaway containers to put them in the recycling box, and thinking about the probability that they will not be recycled at all and will end up in a landfill on some other continent...

   I'd pay a deposit on them that could be refundable when you take the containers back, or credited against your next order. Or get a kid on a cargo bike coming round to collect them once there are enough in the area. Shouldn't be beyond the wit of app designers.
