That's the fun part isn't it, an individual team member on commercial software often gets paid orders of magnitude more than an entire FOSS project, yet people want random maintainers to step up and do non-critical things they don't enjoy nor see the purpose of, for no compensation beyond the privilege of having more screaming users complaining at them.
And even when they do manage to rope in UX people like Tantacrul to sort things out, vocal users scream about breaches of trust.

i wish people put money into what they say they like. I would, but i literally have no money to spend on stuff like that.
