   Yes, use the "private mentions" visibility mode:

   https://fedi.tips/who-can-see-my-posts-in-mastodon-how-do-i-send-dms-in-mastodon/

   Bear in mind that any accounts you mention in that mode can see the message, so only mention accounts you want to communicate with.

     Direct should be doing it only to the person mentioned.

     How did you know other people could see it?

     Thanks for your answer, but I don't have this option with Fedilab application 😕.

     I made tests with the "direct" visibility option, but the message with only one account mentioned can be watched by everybody (so, I deleted it).

     The Home timeline is everything visible to you, but that includes all post visibilities: public, followers-only, mentions-only.

     So, private messages for you will also be visible on your Home timeline.

     Everyone has their own Home timeline.

     The shared timelines which everyone can see are the Federated, Local and Explore timelines.

     You can see a post's visibility by looking for the logo in the top right corner. A globe 🌎 means public, a 🔒 means followers-only, @ means mentions only.

     The message appeared in the "home timeline". So I thought the message was visible by everyone. Was I right ?

     p.s. 🔓 means unlisted, which is similar to public but it doesn't appear in the Federated, Local or Explore timelines.
