   It's probably a baroque worry but I bought an IC card from Japan on ebay. I remember reading that unregistered ones may be harder to buy due to a "chip shortage" ( https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2023/06/02/national/suica-pasmo-sales-suspension/ ). I value my privacy so I got one that should be good until 2027 even if I don't load money onto it, which I most certainly will, in order to continue its usage.
   
   When it arrives, I will use the card inside my idolm@ster Cinderella Girls pass case.

     @Tsuki What I read suggested that they're good for 10 years after date of last usage. I'm partial to the toica cards because they remind me of the Wii Homebrew Channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLDlWNDmR8k&t=10s) . I didn't get a toica card this time though. Instead I got a rather dasai-looking Icoca card. That's still fine. It was cheap and I won't be looking at it other than when I charge it.

     They're good for 10 years after the last use right? I had a bunch of reward points left on mine, I wonder if those expire.
     
     I hope this isn't the end of them, I want to get one of the Hokkaido ones next time I visit, they're way cuter than the Manaca card I have.
