   apparently Metatext don’t play dat. what app do you use?

     Metatext is unfortunately no longer being maintained, as the developer ran into health problems and had to take a break.

     I would strongly suggest moving to a different app such as Ice Cubes, Toot!, Mona, Ivory or the official app.

     Ice Cubes, Mona and the official app are free.

     If it said the username is taken, it sounds like you might have clicked on the option to sign up for a new account, rather than sign in with your existing account? Normally both options are shown when you first use the app.

     thanks for your help, but none of them worked even as well as Metatext. the official app said, “that username is already taken.” several wouldn’t let me post anything after logging in, and one wanted lots of money on a subscription basis. I wouldn’t object to passing on some bucks now and then, but I’m a musician living in a musical wasteland. I don’t make much money.

     maybe I’ll just blog it on my Ko-Fi page and post that link.
