   Matrix "people" are requiring all contributors to sign a CLA so they can sell your code commercially. They hide this fact within a statement which seems to be about transitioning to AGPLv3 (this is good), but the CLA requirement is frankly worse than just keeping it Apache license.

     @sarvo there's nothing preventing people from selling AGPLv3 software commercially. Meanwhile a CLA means you're donating your code to MatrixCorp, not do the "community" or whatever.
     
     They can just take your code, never merge it into the FOSS codebase, and sell it under a proprietary.

     Also reminder that you're agreeing to a CLA to the FSF when you use (A)GPLv3 unless you explicitly state 3.0-only.
