@TornadoOfTerror Nah, you're completely wrong. They ended endlessly running battle shounen because most of the time the quality ain't there and it's like 50% shitty fillers. We now don't have this shit anymore and the overall quality has significantly went up
@TornadoOfTerror what are you even arguing? Even back then it was mostly children anime and family stuff (lots of them having shit production values) that ran endlessly
And then from the end of the 90s to 2010ish, it was, once again, pretty much just battle shounen (which, remember, they're also kids shows) which a lot of them are actually at the top of the totem in terms of sales, and even there a lot of them shat themselves, One Piece wasn't known for looking great at several arcs in the anime and Naruto is quite literally 50%+ filler
@coolboymew but slam dunk had like 100 episodes , death note 37 episodes , detective conan had like gorrillion, Legend of the Galactic Heroes also had 100 there are countless examples like this, gundam also used to have gorillion now they do 11 episodes part 1 and 2 , there is no modern series that does more episodes than their classic counterparts and cell will always look better the lesbo gundam didn't look better than classic gundam
@TornadoOfTerror Slam Dunk is literally a shounen jump comic btw. Once again, One Piece, Naruto and Bleach were a goddamn miserable watch in a lot of ways and we're way better without this
And like half of the list are the kind of children anime we never get. And then I continue through subsequent seasons and we have garbage like Eureka 7 that accomplished fuck all in its 50 eps and a shitload of mostly kodomo anime that nobody ever talks about
Also Legend of the Galactic Heroes has been running on and off since like the 80s, so terrible example
As for Gundam it's a Gundam problem. All of the recent Gundam I've watched were utter garbage
@coolboymew battle shonens get garbage adaptations , it's the non battle shonens that used to get better adaptation most of the time i don't understand the arguement you're making
@TornadoOfTerror Of course Slam Dunk which is top 10 best selling manga of all times is going to get a crazy adaptation when they were still doing them. They also got lucky and it ended within 6 years, which the anime started year 3
Now, Boku no Hero Academia is like in the top 30ish and it's getting adaptations seasons to season which is way better than if they adapted it all in one shot, because the quality would have been down and it would have been filler hell
> i don't understand the arguement you're making
The thing is that you don't understand what you're arguing yourself. Death Note is also a Weekly Shounen Jump manga dude and is also in that list of best sellers and the anime started when it was in its final year
Nowadays things usually gets adapted as they go, like Shokugeki no Souma
It's basically all kids manga/anime mostly. Seinen adaptation are much rarer, let alone long running ones. You're literally just listing shounen demographic stuff
@coolboymew but MHA quality is already down since S2 , sales don't always have corelatiom with quality at all do u realize how many top selling LNs and manga get shit adaptions ? and i thought we were only not supposed to talk about battle shonen not the whole demographic ?
Also i literally do not think that any modern anime looks better than bakemonogatari and no amount tpof shilling can convince me otherwise ( granted it used to be seasonal but it still had some long seaons and multiple opening themes every arc )
@TornadoOfTerror The biggest battle shounen basically all comes from the same source as the biggest shounen demographic stuff, practically everything you mentioned is Shounen Jump. The sales matters because that's how they got crazy adaptation at the end of their manga life
Otherwise that's how some long runners were treated (see pic, basically, the kids stuff)
Now because shounen jump and co got such crazy success with anime, shit now gets adapted as it goes in multiple seasons, which means immediate recognition and that also means it won't fall in filler hell and won't look like shit like naruto either
>Also i literally do not think that any modern anime looks better than bakemonogatari
The Monogatari series is literally a modern era anime starting release 2009-2010
Also watch more anime, Shaft themselves did stuff that looks way better since then, including newer Monogatari seasons
@TornadoOfTerror then that's a you problem and you nostalgia-fagging hard and attempting to bring "The older stuff is much better :(((((" tinted rose glasses that's pretty much always bullshit
Go read a book or something instead if you don't like current anime anymore
@TornadoOfTerror the problem is that the jaded spergs are spreading falsehood. I will always jump on the "anime back then was much better" thing because it totally wasn't and it's completely false perception. Once again the season Monster first aired on is filled with more than 50% literally whos that I've never seen a glimpse of anywhere and children anime that we still wouldn't have gotten today
@coolboymew@TornadoOfTerror no joke I'd argue at least in the japanese scene and to a lesser extent the western one it was a big influence (there's 562 posts on e621 and I bet a lot on pixiv)
@coolboymew@TornadoOfTerror also worth nothing is just like mainstream anime there are furries in Japan and weeb furries who still exist who will 😭 over cute talking animals instead of anime girls.
Case in point there's that one artist drawing tons of a certain obscure Pokemon he/she wants to have sex with to the point of flooding a tag.
