God is not in control; we are.
That's the point: we have to fix our own problems.

I believe there is a higher power. I distrust human depictions of it, which is why my religious faith is vague.
Symbols mislead us.
Not all animalistic instincts are bad.
Religion seems to me to be humans describing how they want the world to be.
I favor a religion of observation and action instead.
@amerika I never said that animalistic instincts are bad. What separates us from animals is self control aka discipline. In a way I agree with you about religion since Bible has been rewritten, translated and knowing humans, used for political advantage. My religious faith is based on my connection to a higher power i feel when attending church. Maybe I'm just riding the wave of collective energy? Regardless, I know that religion connects people on many levels. I feel it.
I can never believe that because thinking life is a test prioritizes something that is not life, and is not proven. My inner conservative revolts.
In my view, God/gods set up a wonderful existence, and it is up to us to keep it (stewardship).
@amerika When I look around I see discipline prevail. Also religion goes against most animalistic instincts.
@amerika As much as I believe that action is necessary I still believe that God is in control and this life is a test in discipline.
