     Why bother with controls? Just make a dating sim. You could probably drag out one that is 20 years old and copy it verbatim and no one would notice. Jackpot millionaire.

     That reminds me of some weird point and click game where you play as a vampire and if you open the game during the day, the game tells you that you're a vampire and you can only play at night.

     Nethack does this. Gremlins spawn peaceful except at night. (Also there is a luck bonus if you play during a full moon and a luck penalty if you play during a new moon.)

     @p @meso @Morghur Another thing I've come across is a certain h-game where the girl says different things when you open it based on how long it's been since last time, and different things when you quit based on what you did.
     Also one that has a different intro based on the current season (except because it, too, is an h-game, and thus a nip game, it's based on you weirdos who have your seasons backward).
     I need to try to come up with something I haven't seen anyone else do for my games.

     Also, don't forget about Black & White 2. That game, if you played past midnight, will whisper random names in a creepy voice from a list of pre recorded names that is compared to the username of your PC.

     That first time might be the same that had that crazy girl that, if you do her route and then do some other girl's route, will kill the girl and then berate you saying things like "You thought reloading the game would help you?" or some stuff like that?
     
     I remember reading about it long ago but can't remember the game.

     @Zerglingman @p @Morghur @meso ddlc and totono are uncannily similar in some aspects, although the author of ddlc says he hasn't heard about totono until after the release of ddlc
     ddlc plays it's meta elements mostly for spooks and being clever totally unlike other vns :^)
     totono is a whole meta story, there's a bunch of stuff going other than le scary yandere, some topical themes like ntr too
