   See as long as you got community you’re somewhat okay. The chubby orthodontist you know? Turns out he’s been building an AR clone every black friday, so you get your pick of the 2nd string stuff like his wonky 10” panama carbine or Holland&Holland seal rifle.

   Maybe the friendly dude from church has asked what your plans are for the worst, and you show up at his driveway with all the food you have and all the gear you got with a willingness to patrol only to see him sorting through his collection of M14s or weird ass G3s

   As long as you know a couple of these gun enthusiast boomers, chances are you have access to plenty of rifles without knowing it. I KNOW it because I’ve heard young guys listed in the order of battle for people battening down the neighborhood in spooky times. In 2020 there was plenty of “well, our kids are {15 miles away}, but if sonny brings his friends we got 5 guys right there. That’ll let us plug up the main road, if you guys got a couple of the brothers coming over too“

   And worst comes to worst, you have a nerd with a bunch of WWII bolt actions. Better than nothing, I guess.

     @Monsignor_DickFace @MeBigbrain Pretty much. Most of those kids probably didn’t know they were on the reserve list for the town, but they were. If things got spicy they’re getting the call to come batten down the hatches and have a sleepover out in the country for a bit.

     @MeBigbrain I put on another song and see that the YT recommendos have a chubby old guy showing off his single shot .223 ccw pistol that he just bought on a whim to be silly

     That’s not the kind of gun you buy until you’ve filled literally EVERY other mission under the sun.
