   The biggest problem is that it's not remotely believable that it would take that long. It'd happen in a matter of decades. 20% of the population would be more than enough to wipe out Paradis and would be very motivated to do so.

     @ArdainianRight I remember people estimating that Paradis had a population of 7 million, while the outside world population had reached 2 billion. Obviously, 7 million VS 400 million is still not a remotely fair fight, and the fact that almost everyone on Paradis thinks that Eren Did Nothing Wrong, and has a proudly Jaegerist military government pretty much undoes all the efforts of the Traitor Team to give Eldians better PR in the outside world.
     
     I'm kinda amazed that Isayama didn't cuck on this particular issue and essentially admitted that yes, the Jaegerists did have the support of almost everyone on Paradis, it was just a select few Survey Corps elites who betrayed their people and went against Eren and Floch. Kinda makes it hard to swallow the idea that all of Levi's dead friends would have supported the alliance, or that all the dead Titan Shifters would have wanted to stop the Rumbling.

     @ChristiJunior The reality is that they actually were stuck between choosing their own versus everyone else. It made sense for Eren to choose his own over a broader humanity he just found out about and hates him and made his life and the lives of everyone he ever knew an absolute hell. The 80% bullshit is an attempt to write yourself out of the reality that the story was inexorably headed towards Eren at least trying to wipe out all, or most of all humanity to save his own in the face of despair. If he came up short and things ended in tragedy that would work and make sense, but the moral dilemma presented is extremely binary, because any half-measure gives you the worst of both worlds.

     @ArdainianRight It's okay to not want to show 100% genocide succeeding - even Jean Raspail openly admitted that he disobeyed his muse when not letting the French army gun down the 3rd world Invaders in Camp of the Saint. That story still retains its integrity and power because it makes the CONSEQUENCES of that choice oh-so clear, and lets the reader draw his own conclusions about what should have been done.
     
     That's why I say that a Genocide Ending could have been Cucked, and an Alliance Victory Ending could have been Based - it was all about the execution. 80% Genocide Ending/Lelouch Ending was a cowardly and nonsensical middle ground, even before taking into account the terrible execution.

     @Soma @ArdainianRight Yeah, but the manga ending was still so unbelievably badly written that the sheer suck and character assassination of Eren far outweighed Floch being vindicated.
     
     It also did still enable all the Traitors to avoid facing the consequences of their actions.

     @ChristiJunior @ArdainianRight In the mango Paradis gets nuked not long after judging from the modern architecture so I would say it managed to be somewhat true to showing the consequences of being a giant pussy. Guess I'll have to reread the Turner Diaries to get a good end.
