obviously don't need to tell nugger this

@sickburnbro My understanding is that such situations would almost certainly entail shortage of bikes and bike parts too.
Stockpile tubes and brakepads, they're both pretty compact so you can have rooms full of them, then hit up a trash pile and pick up frames with good-enough tyres, most everything else will be in good nick.

@Zerglingman a long term shortage that severe would reduce the use of a bicycle, as solo travel would become dangerous.
-
@sickburnbro solo?

@Zerglingman by yourself.
The context here is "if a huge gas shortage hit, a bicycle would be useful for maintaining the semblance of the life you were living"

If it is dangerous to go alone, take a few friends with you, all armed and each with a bike.

@teknomunk @sickburnbro Submachinegun with standard handlebar mounting clip.

Pegs on the rear wheels and something to lean against to allow a second rider to use a machine gun without worrying about steering or pedaling. :gura_smug2:

Sure, it's different from how things were, but I include "not starving" in the list of things that I would want to keep from the life I am currently living, and having mobility supports that.
