   yeah I wish I could make my lawn be rocks and somehow have trees that both give shade *and* never have foliage

   I picked up leaves 2 days ago and the trees are still pretty full of leaves. :oP

     @kkarhan @yakkoj A neighbor recently gave me a leaf vacuum, and it's great because it mulches the leaves up (better for composting) and you only end up moving the leaves once instead of 2 - 4 times when you rake.

     @kkarhan @yakkoj I tried vacuuming raked piles because mulching, but it actually seems to jam up a bit more that way.

     @thatguyoverthere @kkarhan it's why I had some sense this year and didn't wait for all the leaves to pile up. The Cub Cadet works much better when I don't try to make it vacuum up a big pile

     Still way better than having to manually rake and stuff 20 bags...

     @yakkoj @kkarhan I'm not even sure how many bags I could fill. I compost everything. Right now I have about 2 cuft of compost ready to use, 3cuft of compost ready to be added to that so it can cool down before it's needed, and about 8 cuft of material that is just starting in the composting phase which includes about 10-15 bags of leaves from the vacuum, a bunch of garden waste, and wood mulch from a bunch of downed branches. Once I get the last batch out of the chicken yard I will give that to the chickens to play with over the winter.
