   Why do some people hate javascript so much? I get annoyed by overuse or needless use of it sure, like just to render text on a page. Doesn't need to be that fancy. But some things inherently can only be done WITH javascript right? Or is any serverside scripting language evil inherently? Is PHP the antichrist too?
   
   I'm obviously not an expert in any of the fields I'm bringing up.

     @thegreatape it was cobbled in about a week by an unhinged programmer and then became the permanent language of the web before anyone realized half the semantics don't make any sense.

     @lain @thegreatape was supposed to be hypertalk, but corporate wanted it to look like that there java shit.
     
     now ecma wants it to look like c# instead
