   Mobile apps are just an interface to a specific service, not a service by itself. ActivityPub is a service-service protocol, not client-service protocol.

     @icd It does have a client protocol also.‘it’s just rather complicated and not widely adopted. The Mastodon API has become the de facto “client protocol”.
