     @makeheroism @RoboftheVolcano I'm only 48, so I didn't really start my career until after college in 1998.

     It's not the money I made. It's the experience I gained. By the time I was 35, I had nearly twice the experience of my counterparts.

     I couldn't afford a house in the greater Seattle area so I moved someplace where I could afford a house, central Texas.

     I am not here to convince you, but I am saying where there is a will, there is a way.

     No. It’s just not worth it.

     Working 80hrs gets more of the money I worked for taken away by daddy government. Oh and also when I adjust for inflation I’m still not making anywhere close to the dollar amount you were back in the 70s or 80s. Meanwhile productivity has SKYROCKETED since then.

     This isn’t some fucking hard work dick measuring contest.

     @makeheroism @RoboftheVolcano my generation (Gen x) worked 80 hours a week in our 20s, building businesses and putting ourselves in a position so we don't have to work until we are dead.

     Short term sacrifice for long term gain. But if people want to work 6 hours a day for the rest of their lives, I'm sure the hours worked will all be the same. I just prefer having some freedom when I'm older, that's all.

     My generation and this girls generation will be working until we are dead in case that’s not perfectly clear to you.
