     Journalism always veered politically liberal.
     It's just that in the United States, government spooks (your FBIs and CIAs) were more heavily involved (Mockingbird, anyone?).
     I know a lot of entertainment now comes from France, Australia, Canada or Georgia because of creative funds.

     Oh also, remember that all these platforms DOES also work with fascist regimes and endanger the users in their respective countries, but you don't much of a shit about that do you?
     
     The US government is also literally giving money to organizations that are pushing for all sort of censorships on all the platforms

     You seem to be deep into Musk's and the regressive-right's disinformation machines' tales.

     Taking steps to identify and prevent the proliferation of (mostly) intentional disinformation is entirely orthogonal to supporting free speech.

     Taking steps to elevate and propagate intentional disinformation is not in anyt way supporting free speech. It is supporting attacks on democracy.

     We are very much done here.
