     @nugger @professionalbigot69 down in latam I saw some apartment blocks w/ tons of chickens outside. Most of the time people would put their trash in grocery sacs and toss them into the pile (to theoretically, but rarely be picked up by the gov). So you’d have this mountain of stuff breaking down and composting into a brew of rotting filth and plastics, cut up and pecked over by chickens.

     supposedly they would go back to their owner’s place to roost and lay eggs, though that seemed fairly optimistic to me. But, they breed easy enough so people probably just shrug off the waste, since it’s all automatic
