   I don't think I'm skilled enough with a circular saw or hand saw to rip a straight line through ~6" of material for 4' :Thinker: the circular saw would need to run up both sides and I know the hand saw will drift

     The table saw max height doesn't even reach halfway through the post I want to mill. Normally this is not a problem but my mill is at a friends house a few hours away. Driving up there to mill a few feet to finish a tiny job seems silly.

     @BowsacNoodle it's going to be the outside wall of a doghouse, but I guess if I adjust for faults I could run it through the planer afterwards. I may also be adding some spare pickets I have (as lap siding) if I can't get it looking the way I want so some errors are acceptable.

     @thatguyoverthere How straight do you need to be? Like finish carpentry level or "decent"? What if you cut a small table saw indent in the cutoff portion to use as a guide for your circular saw?
