     arguing that everyone should self-host is a bit like arguing that everyone should produce their own food instead of buying it at the grocery store.

     ah, wait, some people actually take that idea seriously.

     for every ridiculous analogy i can come up with, someone actually does take that idea seriously. the same sort of person who'd argue that you should self-host, i imagine.

     but i mean, there's a reason vocations and professions exist. you can't always do everything so you delegate.
