     bluetooth is great! it's like you have a wire that carries audio, but instead of a wire, there's nothing

     and it works just like you didn't have a wire!

     @foone Why, yes, all my keyboards and mice *are* connected to their computers by wires. Why do you ask?

     it turns out the problem wasn't bluetooth at all! kinda!
     It's because of pipewire, which is one of those things that I resent having to learn about.

     ANYWAY when the system update installed pipewire, it didn't include libspa-0.2-bluetooth. Installing that and restarting pipewire fixed my bluetooth connections

     @crobbler that's the fun thing about linux! after you've used it for more than a decade, you get used to the periodic "the old audio system is dead. long live the new audio system!" announcements. they just swap the names around each time

     @foone Getting strong mid-2000s flashbacks to when distros started switching from alsa to pulseaudio.

     It was painful then and I want off Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
