     @mona Russia went in last year, took a bunch of land early, stalled out, then the Ukrainians pushed them back a lot, then they stalled out, and now Russia's starting to retake a few cities.

     @mona Sort of. Ukraine's done better than expected. Russia probably eventually comes away with Donbas but not much beyond that. Western aid is fueling the Ukie LARP of retaking Crimea as opposed to encouraging them to seek a mutually feasible peace, and because of that it's dragging things out. Russia's already taken considerably more losses and costs than they expected, but Putin can't afford to look weak coming away empty-handed, much less losing territory in Crimea. So this is gonna continue to drag on with nobody other than the MIC really winning.

     @ArdainianRight @mona Say what you want about Zelensky, but I think it's inarguable that he cares more about hurting Russia than helping Ukraine.
