     @supersid333 Most of these infamous celeb watches at least get sold off for “charity”. I think newman’s daytona was like that, too. The kids don’t care, they have plenty of treasures, and to them the watch of an absent, disinterested parent isn’t as attractive as the praise of the world and a few million dollars (w/ attention, too).

     Not to mention they sometimes feel like it’s not ‘theirs’ to own, when it’s something the whole public wants. They feel like they’re giving it to the world with an auction, despite the fact it goes right into a safe only to be seen when its most recent owner is indicted for trafficking
