@coolboymew@romin looks like a pretty standard setup but with 9 keys instead of bemani's 5 or maimai's 8. imho more keys makes for less nuance and expression of skill. theres also no visualization here (is it turned off?) and characters shout nonsense (can you turn that off?). taiko has annoying sounds but its the same few lines from one character. i prefer project divas method of distractions with position of notes onscreen, punishing tunnel vision and becomes irrelevant once you learn the chart. feels like touch screen games in general suck for rhythm but new cabinets have touch screen shit and phones are more popular than air in japan so i guess i get it, but not conducive to "best rhythm game" imho desu
@why@romin More key is truly needed. They had 5 key only songs in SIF1 at some point and it was easy as shit in this setup. It's 9 because there's 9 girls in µ's and Aqours
The skills triggers visualisation in the screen and it's distracting as fuck, so better turn it off. And yeah, the voices you hear are skills being triggered and can be decreased and turned off. Everything you see in the field can be customized to some extent
Rhythm games like this are pretty much the best thing you can play on your cellphone and something that actually fucking works vs gimping sonic/mario gameplay into a fucking autorunner or shitty on screen buttons. For this, the touch feedback is replaced by note audio feedback (customisable and you can turn it off)
@why@romin ? There is 4 difficulty. But as I said, 5 key only songs were too easy in this setup and the max speed they have
I think Bang Dream has 5 keys, but they have hold triggers that moves and cancer flicker trigger and they suck. It's really really fun to have an almost H O R I Z O N T A L B O I hold trigger that wipes your health in 2 seconds. Very nice
@coolboymew@romin well its cool that the charts are mapped to whos singing but it seems irrelevant if less keys means less difficulty. multiple difficulty charts per song is kinda standard in rhythm games
@why@coolboymew@romin >9 keys instead of bemani's 5 or maimai's 8. That's not the whole story, maimai also has slides, and since DX also has on-screen tap notes, that video seems to just have taps and holds.
@why@birdulon@romin simple is best honestly. I've played other rhythm games on the phone like Cytus II that had long wait trigger and other weird shit and it was just weird
@coolboymew@romin@why ah right, I wouldn't count them as distinct inputs, just two simultaneous ones (even if some games track them separately, like jumps(2x)/hands(3x)/quads(4x) in DDR)
