   Ehud Barak on Ari Melber’s “The Beat” just said something people never believed: Bibi supported and strengthened Hamas. The reason was to keep them viable and to prevent Palestinians from being able to unite under one government, making it easier for Israel to expand into Palestinian lands without any fear of “Peace Talks” making them return what they stole. That is who rules a nation we call our closest ally.

     @msquebanh I too, thought that after the crisis of my younger days: riots, Viet Nam, assassinations, that we would make a better world. I did not realize until my late 20’s that what was behind the scenes, pulling strings, often nameless, was the nightmare machine that has, IMO, become even more powerful. That machine needs to be dragged out into the light, piece by piece.

     @Catawu I'm a US war in Vietnam survivor & appreciate you sharing your experience.
     I thought after that & countless wars after & after seeing genocide of Rwanda on TV - most people would develop more humanity & learn that you can't trust state funded violent people to tell the truth. I learned a lot of really awful things that shook me to point I couldn't stay silent & learned to be OK with getting attacked by ignorant ppl for refusing to shut up about human rights abuses. I won't shut up!

     @Catawu Same. I'm doing best possible to fight against disinformation & bigoted hatred. It's all so horrible.

     When I was a younger war refugee survivor, I once believed that I'd grow up & see world peace happen because as a young war violence traumatized child - couldn't imagine why anyone would want more violent wars.

     Growing up was an awful reckoning. It was when I realized geopolitical war games are how corrupt ppl in power - stay in power. That hit me at age 18. I'm now 48.

     @Catawu So many people didn't believe me when I said Bibi was key in helping HAMAS gain power. He thought he could puppet them because he's an idiotic egomaniac.

     @Catawu Several of our family members were raped, murdered & tortured by both Viet Cong & US army. Some things my parents couldn't even speak about decades later because what they witnessed was so horrific. I shared some horrific war crimes experiences from my own family members & many are never prosecuted because we don't really matter much to people in power & they don't want all ugly war truths to come out. Over 30 of my family members died & those were just from carpet bombing.

     @msquebanh I lost so many because of Viet Nam. Went to funerals of classmates before I was 16. Those who came back were never the same, and they were lost to us too soon. I thought that would wake people up. But I found that people turn away from the ugly truth in favor of a fairytale fictional alternative. I am glad you made home and I applaud that you refuse to be silent. Fortunately for me, I am, not afraid of fury, and I will look behind the curtain every time.

     @Catawu Several of my family members were beaten almost to death by US army even though we had zero ties to resistance armies & being abused by both sides. No Western media wants to tell our side though. We were accused of helping Viet Cong when we were terrified of both VC & US army.

     People here & in US who have never suffered under war in their homes will never understand this terror.
