     @aral You keep saying something along the lines of:

     > In unchained/free software there's an expectation from the developer that people have to spend time to learn software. But think about the brain surgeon, he certainly dont have the time to do that!

     I think it is worth exploring further. Could you flesh out your experience with these attitudes. And perhaps point out how it impacts specific projects?
