     new strange but exciting behavior: 1. device is stuck before boot 2. connect openocd to DAP, but errors 3. remove power from usb-ocd 4. device magically boots

     @mntmn many SoCs have to be configured in firmware to expose JTAG via GPIOs, is that the case here? I.e. if it gets stuck early on boot, it might not work.

     ok so this lead to the actual solution of the problem: we just need a little bodge wire from TRST to PORESET. fixes all the modules 🤯🤯🤯

     @yannsionneau it makes a little bit of sense, it might be an erratum (i requested the errata which are under NDA). the datasheet/design note hints at it and specifies to bind TRST to PORESET "if jtag is not used". my colleague f. schneider suggested that the chip/the debug interface might be stuck in boundary scan mode

     @jacqueline can i ask you to do this lil' modification on your ls1028a module? then it should boot reliably every time! (thin magnet wire bodge from N3 pin 2 to TP19)
