@Godcast @wgiwf @givenup @Big_Richard It's kind of ironic that you wandered into this conversation since I'm thinking about these things because of you. I was thinking about a story for your Age of Ruin contest and at first wanted to do space fascism vs space communism but then I realized that communism is gay and it sucks and I don't want to write about it. So instead of making a side that's just set up to obviously lose, I would like to make it space fascism vs space fascism; one side futurist the other traditionalist. Way more interesting story to me. I fall far more on the trad-fash side, but I don't want to portray either as doomed to fail or inherently dystopic; I'm sure people would strongly prefer one or the other, though, and I would like to show desirable aspects to each of them.
