@boud@mori@anildash @pfefferle.wordpress.com@pfefferle.wordpress.com i am worried about the implications of having millions of servers potentially doing a GET request to a potentially arbitrary URL, e.g. a very popular wordpress makes a post that has something that is snarfed by everyone following it. instant GET flood from potentially hundreds of thousands of unique installs.
It took several steps of following URLs to find the plugin's licence. I was a bit worried given all the blabla about it being "acquired" by Automattic. It is [1][2] free software, covered by the Expat licence [3].

@anildash This is nice. Whenever I read comments on a website now I think, geeze, these should be run using fediverse and I can just use Masto account to leave a comment. Yeah I know I could sign up to the website, but I gave up doing that years ago.
