would you be interested in a hosted service for file syncing (with syncthing and DAV, maybe sftp support) and unbloated web ui for access to pictures, markdown etc?

As a service product?
I am running #Syncthing already an I wonder what benefits your service could provide to me.

minute (mntmn@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 16-Jan-2023 09:39:22 JST minute @polezaivsani hm. it's more about practical concerns, not to obscure something. i don't run my own datacenter to host our website for example. p2p without any server usually doesn't work well once you leave your premises. what alternatives are there for non-sysadmins to store and sync your stuff if you don't want to use dropbox, drive etc (which i want to avoid)?

polezaivsani (polezaivsani@chaos.social)'s status on Monday, 16-Jan-2023 09:39:23 JST polezaivsani @mntmn I meant that as a riff on the very word 'service' gaining bad reputation these days.
The empowering that a personal computer affords seem has more emancipatory power than what a service (in a broad sense) can offer. To me, you ever swaying from the former to the latter camp would be deemed an unfavorable tendency.

Guess that's my knee jerk reaction to hearing of any service being offered. Non tech savvy folks? Can't blame them for picking something that's easy to handle from an off the mill corp sas.
Quite the contrary, I believe it's my responsibility to build things that my parents can use without selling their souls to some shady party.
