     @lain Usury is bad because you're making money while not doing any real work unlike moving stuff from one place to another and charging the people at your destination more 😂

     @lain yet nowadays sharia banking exists (though how much of it is a sham i will not comment on)
     
     just curious why something similar never developed in europe, everyone just accepted lending with interest as a de facto standard

     @cell maybe we really have menger and the other austrians to blame for this, because they were the first to give a coherent account for why interest is natural.
