The whole concept of *signing* a statement is that you're ready to live or die by it.

Consider for example, the Declaration of Independence, the British hunted down and killed or exiled all of the signatories of that document BECAUSE their names were public.

But if they had all signed it "The Philadelphia Freedom Caucus" or such, The United States of America would not exist.
