Terrorism is attacking civilian targets to enact political change through fear. Attacking civilians in a genocidal campaign is horrifically evil, but definitionally not terrorism.

Thorwegian ❄️ (thor@berserker.town)'s status on Thursday, 12-Oct-2023 19:07:30 JST Thorwegian ❄️ the Hamas Charter from 1988 reads like the playbook of any other Islamic terror organisation such as Al Quaeda or the Islamic State. same kind of religious fundamentalism and Jihadist approach. they justify the killing of civilians because they are infidels just like Al Quaeda did in the 9/11 attacks. their own charter explicitly tells them to wipe out the Jews. i mean, it seems pretty clear cut that they're terrorists.

https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp
parts of it seem to borrow from Nazism. it states as a goal to fight and kill the Jews. it explicitly dismisses peaceful solutions and international conferences.
it contradicts itself in places though, because it also states that Islam, Christianity and Judaism can coexist peacefully under Islamic law. it rejects the idea that peace is possible under any other kind of rule.
i think one possible interpretation of it is that if the Muslims can just beat and kill everybody else into submission through sheer terror, peace is once again possible.
