Ah, yeah, that's a little different; I don't know about unveil() (or I don't remember) but pledge() is enforced by the kernel. Still kind of requires you to use it properly, doesn't stop this problem from being a problem. It's also not a browser thing: everything that links against libwebp has this bug. ffmpeg has it, ffmpeg talks to the GPU, some browsers use ffmpeg to decode video. I don't know how WebGL interacts with promise/unveil but I'm not confident about any kind of general fix for the browser. Theo's great, don't get me wrong, but I don't think the general problem can be solved.
