All searches, for words or people or hashtags, happen in the search box at the top left of the page on the desktop website. I guess it might be easy to miss as it's a similar colour to the background?

To follow a hashtag, you search for the hashtag and then click the "follow hashtag" button in the search results.

About getting started quicktips, do you mean on my website at https://fedi.tips?
