   Wow! Google Pixel 8 will receive monthly Android security updates for seven years. This is probably the only Android phone with seven years of security update support.

     @nixCraft TBH I rather hope that before the passing of 8 years we'll have legislation in place (in the EU at least) ensuring that all Android phones have LTS of at least 8 years.

     And why stop at smartphones when there are billions of IoT abandonware devices waiting to be exploited, we have to do this sooner rather than later
