   The US has been throwing the Philippines under the bus since 1945 and again in 2012. The Americans have suffered consecutive defeats in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is waging a proxy war in Ukraine. What assurance do we have that it will stand by us this time? NONE.

     @Moto_Chagatai No offense but the Philippines aren't exactly industrialized or defensible enough to make the effort worth it for America when we can defend Korea, Japan, and Taiwan instead to maintain a presence in the SCS and Sea of Japan. We already "help" our "allies" way too much anyway. American sea hegemony has hurt us more than it's helped us, in the long term.
