     No one claimed they need to compromise in all situations... what is it with people co fusing "any" and "all" qualifiers.

     Dear Dr. Freemo: I was merely advancing the contention that comprise is an essential element to the functioning of Democracy. Our Republic is based upon the Principles of Democracy. If politicians fail to have a meeting of the minds, nothing gets done, politicians are at an impass. Government at some point will cease to function in the absence of political deals. I am not confusing any and all qualifiers when I argue that comprise is essential, if opposing political factions cannot work together, they must seek some form of compromise or the government will cease to function. There is nothing vague and ambiguous in what I am stating concerning political compromises.

     I believe Dr. Freemo that you have overlooked the most important aspects of effective government. That is for the politician to attempt to represent his/her constituents without compromise, unfortunately most of the time, the politician still has to make deals within his/her party or make deals with the opposite political party. So for all intents and purposes all politicians must seek compromises.
